Want to straighten your teeth but are put off by the sight of braces? Our dental office also offers Invisalign. Invisalign is a nearly invisible, removable plastic aligner that fits over your teeth and is an alternative to traditional braces.
How Does Invisalign® work?
An Invisalign orthodontist will construct an Invisalign aligner using a patient’s tooth impressions and orthodontic records. The actual mold is made by Align Technology, where 3-D imaging software is used to create a clear plastic aligner that fits perfectly on your teeth. The technology maps the progress of your teeth and new molds are created every two weeks that slowly push your teeth into place.
The removable braces technology has existed for several years but was not commonly used in the past. With the advancements in 3D computer technology, clear line invisible technology is now accessible to virtually anyone.
Benefits of Invisalign
- Nearly Invisible: Straighten your teeth without the bulkiness of braces
- Removable: Eat and Drink whatever you want with no worries of food getting stuck
- Better Oral Hygiene: Easily brush and floss normally for healthy teeth and gums
- More comfortable than braces
Who Can Benefit from Invisalign?
The advancements in Invisalign technology allow us to treat a wide range of people. The only determining factor is whether or not the client still has their second molars.
Statistics show that a large percentage of Canadians suffer from crooked teeth and could benefit from Invisalign.
How long does treatment take?
Like traditional braces, Invisalign treatment is determined by the exact nature of the individual case, but on average, Invisalign treatment takes approximately 1 year.
